What fun it must be to be a Los Angeles Clippers fan or one of their betting backers on WagerWeb.com – if there are any of the latter.
The Clips may not have the worst record in the NBA (yet), but it’s fairly safe to say that this franchise has hit bottom again, and the descent back to the bottom seemed to accelerate with the signing of Baron Davis from Golden State this offseason.
Davis has been nothing short of lousy, on and off the court. There are rumors of him bickering with coach Mike Dunleavy, wanting a trade, so on. And the whispers have returned that Davis is basically mailing it in and not pushing hard to return from a bruised tailbone.
“When guys get injured, typically you have agents that are going to tell them, ‘There’s no reason to hurry back. Make sure you’re 110 percent healthy before you come back,’ ” said Dunleavy, also the team’s general manager. “I think that’s one of the things you have to try and guard against. We don’t ever want anybody coming back that has a chance of injuring themselves.”
Current Clips sidelined are Baron Davis, Zach Randolph (sore left knee), Jason Hart (right elbow tendinitis), Chris Kaman (strained left arch), Mike Taylor (fractured right thumb) and Ricky Davis (sore left knee).

Dunleavy said Kaman will get another MRI exam in 1 1/2 weeks, meaning the center will be out at least another two weeks. He might be trade bait when he does get healthy.
Asked when he might return, Baron Davis said, “hopefully within the next couple of weeks.”
Most of the blame for L.A.’s 8-25 record (it has also lost seven straight) is being placed on Davis. He is shooting a career-worst 36 percent from the field this season and just 29.1 percent from the 3-point line. Over the last eight games, Davis was shooting a sad 36-for-132 (27.2 percent). In fact, in the 30 games he’s played for the Clippers, his field goal percentage hasn’t topped 50 percent in a single game.
Think L.A. regrets that big contract yet?
The Clippers are next in action Tuesday night against Dallas.
